Pixel is best known as the creator of the ISIS specification. Since its introduction in 1990, the ISIS API has become the dominant method of scanner control in document imaging. Pixel Translations sets the standard for professional imaging tools. Our Customers The leading suppliers of document imaging software and peripherals use Pixel Translations technology to help them provide cutting edge solutions. These companies and hundreds of smaller VAR's and system integrators trust Pixel to provide critical pieces of their products. Our development team becomes an extension of theirs, concentrating on fundamental imaging technologies. All together, hundreds of thousands of users rely on Pixel Translations every day. They provide functions including: - Scanner control - Image display - Image file handling - Image printing - Compression and decompression They handle color and gray images, as well as typical black and white ("binary"). Pixel focuses on performance, and we deliver that performance into your application. PixTools / Scan If you want to add scanner support to your application, there is only one name you need to know: ISIS. Pixel Translations provides ISIS scanner drivers that allow an application program to work with more than 100 different scanners made by over 25 different manufacturers. The ISIS specification was created by Pixel Translations and forms the basis of the scanning API being standardized by AIIM. Pixel's libraries shield the application developer from concerns about which scanner is connected and what its capabilities are. The ISIS API is identical whether the physical connection is SCSI, serial video, or a parallel port. Pixel focuses on providing peak performance from every scanning device. SCSI and video scanners run at or beyond rated speeds. Features like ScanAhead™ maintain maximum throughput by caching image data in the ISIS driver even when an application temporarily can't keep up with the scanner. Most scanners supported are desktop or production scanners, including Agfa, Apple, Bell & Howell, Canon, Epson, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard, Howtek, Kodak, Microtek, Nikon, Panasonic, Relisys, Ricoh, Sharp, TDC and Umax. The ISIS interface is supported across Windows, Windows NT, and the Macintosh. The ISIS API is also available on a variety of UNIX platforms from Peabody Systems. PixTools / Scan also includes image de/compression, import, conversion, and file handling. It can be used alone, or in conjunction with PixTools / Display & Print. "There's a reason Pixel Translations' ISIS drivers are the standard for scanner control -- they work!" -- David Skok, Founder and CEO Watermark Software PixTools / View Pixel Translations provides an image management library that allows applications to easily support zoom (scaling), pan, and 90 degree rotations for display and printing of binary, grayscale, and color images. The library offers a variety of anti-aliasing techniques, including true scale-to-gray. Cornerstone and Xionics display accelerators are supported transparently. In Windows, Pixel supports accelerated printing with Cornerstone PrintAccel, Fujitsu PP10i and Xionics XipPrint. PixTools / View includes complete annotation capabilities for Windows such as highlighting, line drawing, redaction and text overlay. It provides file import, export, and conversion libraries for standard image file types. Support includes: TIFF (uncompressed, Group 3, modified Group 3, Group 4, LZW and packbits), JPEG, PCX/DCX, PICT, BMP, CALS, and PDA. Demonstration applications for Windows, Windows NT, OS/2, and the Macintosh are available to evaluate this exciting technology. PixTools / View can be used alone, or in conjunction with PixTools / Scan.
